3 weeks old!

I know, I know...I've deprived you of pictures for over a week! Shameful. Baby boy is growing and doing great! I can't believe he is three weeks old. He even had his first growth spurt. I finally figured this out on the second day he was wanting to eat every hour or hour and a half. He's still sleeping really well at night, although not quite "through the night". We're working on getting on a routine so right now he goes to bed around 10 and sleeps until 2 or 3 and then I feed him and then he sleeps again until 6 or 7. So it's really not bad at all. I haven't been out of the house much at all but tomorrow I will be taking him to church for the first time. This will be a huge accomplishment for me to get him up and fed and get myself ready and get him into the car and everything all by myself and all before 11 am! Wish me luck!

Here are some pics of the last week and half, including visits from Auntie Bryceleigh and my mom (grandmother name tbd). I think he is looking like a hybrid of Jackson and I. He looks a lot like my baby pictures, but I think he may have Jackson's nose and eyes...I can't wait to see what color they turn out to be.

Please Don't Hate Me...

because my 2 week old sleeps through the night! For the past three nights Parks has slept 6-7+ hours straight! I guess the Lord knows how I get when I'm tired and decided to have mercy on Parks and spare him a cranky mommy. Hallelujah! I just had to share this glorious news.

He's Growing!

I'm sure there will be a point where my posts are not exclusively focused on Parks, but for now, it's just my reality. Please bear with me.

Yesterday we had our 1 week check-up with our pediatrician. Parks is doing awesome! He was 7lbs 5oz when we took him last Monday to meet with the lactation consultant at our pediatricians office. This monday he was 8lbs 4oz! He gained almost a whole pound in a week! Our doctor was very pleased and said we are doing great. He also said that we can let Parks sleep as long as he will go during the night and we don't have to wake him up to feed anymore since he is doing so well with his weight gain. Yay! We got almost 5 straight hours last night followed by another 3.5 hours of good sleep. Praise the Lord!

He is seriously filling out the newborn clothes we have for him, they are almost too tight for him to wear. Bring on the 0-3 months clothes!

Mama Boo and Papa Deke Came to Visit!

We had Jackson's parents come visit this weekend and it was so much fun and so nice to have them here! They said that they were happy to take over any night shifts with Parks which was great and allowed Jackson and I to get some good rest. Boo cooked delicious meals for us and prepared more meals for us to tide us over until she comes back on Tuesday! They also helped us get set up for Christmas and bought us our very first Christmas tree! We have been taken care of so well. Our family and friends have been such a blessing to us and Parks sure does love his grandparents!

We love our little Christmas bundle!

More Pics

Update: Parks is doing great! Jackson and I both said this morning, "This is much more relaxing than we thought it would be." My mom left on Tuesday and we have been all alone in our cozy home since then and we are really enjoying ourselves. It's weird being here just the three of us (plus Lucy of course) but we are loving it. Baby Parks is such a good little boy, he eats well, sleeps well, rarely cries and has been such a joy. Maybe we were blessed with an "Angel Baby" or maybe this is the calm before the storm...I'm not sure yet :) Either way, we are grateful for a good first week, it definitely helps the confidence of a new parent!

Enjoy some more pics of Parks!

Bringing Home Baby

I'm back! I am sorry it has taken me days to post more pictures of our bundle of joy! I know some of you are very anxious to see more pics. As you can imagine, life has been a little different lately and blogging has been the last thing on my mind.

I think I will write more later on my delivery and labor experience, but for now I will just say that it was amazing and I understand what women mean now when they say giving birth is the most incredible thing you will ever do. My friend Melissa, the mother of two sweet little boys, told me that there are places in your heart that you don't know exist until you have a baby. She is so right. I love this little guy more than anything. I am in such baby bliss. I just stare at him and smile. I could also go on and on about what an amazing father Jackson is. He helps with everything. Diapers, clothes, helping me feed, name it, and he does it! He is so involved and engaged. I couldn't imagine how things would be without his constant help and support. I feel so blessed to have been given a sweet, perfect little boy and an amazing, servant-leader husband.

Here are some pictures of our first few days at home, starting with coming home from the hospital.

More to come!!

Parks Jackson Andrews

Jackson here - The big day finally arrived! Our baby Parks is here and he is perfect. Mallory and Parks are doing great. She went into labor Thursday night around 10PM, and Parks was born 26 hours at 11:44PM on November 28th. Mal was AWESOME. She got all the way to 10cm and pushed for an hour and a half with no meds; however, after that hour and a half Parks hadn’t moved at all. That’s when our doctor and Mallory agreed it was time for plan B. Mallory received a pitocan driop and an epidural at 10PM, allowing her to sleep and rest for an hour and a half, while at the same time giving her stronger contractions to help push Parks down. At 11:30PM she started to push again and then Parks was born at 11:44PM!! Parks was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20.5’’ long. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. He and Mallory are both resting and recovering well. Enjoy the pics of our first 24 hours with Parks.
