Jump It Out

Why in the world is there a toddler trampoline in my backyard??? Oh, that's right. My husband ordered one! I wasn't gonna argue. If he was in the mood to purchase something that might occupy Parks and is basically a giant cage....I'm all in. Time-outs on the trampoline while mommy lays out!

We enjoyed breaking it in tonight with Parks' bff Liliana. She's the sweetest little thing and such a good sport with Parks. Little Truett, 11 months was a trooper too, enjoying the trampoline action from the ground.

It's really fun to take pictures of other kids every now and then :)

Quote of the Day

"Quiet honey, Mommy's worshipping Jesus."

That's what I said today in the car. Parks has gotten into a bad habit of saying "Nana" about 1,000x a day. You think I'm kidding? Spend about 5 minutes with me and you'll see.
Today we were in the car and I was rocking out to the new Hillsong Live cd and Parks starts with his "nananana" for the 3rd time in 5 minutes. I desperately needed my praise time so I just had to tell him, not now! It's all about priorities, right??

i love my daddy

The "daddy" phase has begun! Parks LOVES his daddy and asks about him several times an hour when he is at work! We are both thankful for such a great "dada". He's the best!

we've come a long way, baby

Was looking through some old pictures and couldn't help but smile. Look how young we were! Marriage (and my highlights) has been good to us! :)

Spring 2006 Jackson had just turned 20, I was 19. We had only been dating a couple months.

Summer 2010, both 24

dresses & diapers

two of parks' favorite "dress-up" items...

...hopefully there will be no permanent damage done from either...

baycreek delight

We just got back from an amazing weekend at Baycreek in Cape Charles, Virginia with some of our very best friends, Los Dos Daubertos! It was kind of a joint celebration of our 3 year wedding anniversaries. We got married in May and the Dauberts got married in June 2007. It was only our second time away from Parks overnight and it was the first time we went away for a few days.

It. Was. Awesome. Life changing really.

To be able to just be "me" and just be "us" (as in me and jax) was so refreshing! I found myself thinking, "So this is what it's like to be a normal 24 year old..." I had forgotten! I enjoyed uninterrupted, adult conversations, long leisurely meals and mornings unawakened by "nana...nana...NANA". We're already trying to schedule our next getaway! But of course, there's nothing like coming back to your baby after you've been away! :)

Enjoy the pics of our weekend, lots of them were taken by Michael, our resident budding photographer.

Monopoly is our "thing" with the Dauberts. We played 2 (very long) games over the weekend and Michael was the victor both times! We think it's a combination of luck and some sort of secret strategy he has. We are determined to dethrone him next time!
